Blowing loose-fill insulation between attic joists

Insulation that lowers your energy bills and makes your home more comfortable.

Properly insulating your attic and crawlspace will reduce your cooling and heating costs — but most important, it improves the comfort and overall health of your home.

Ed Residential LLC is a full-service insulation contractor. We install batt, foam, and blown-in insulation, and we seal the top plates, plumbing, and electrical penetrations before we insulate, so the air you pay to heat and cool stays inside. We use advanced equipment and proven techniques on every job, from Trappe, Easton, Cambridge, Oxford, and St. Michaels.

Signs of poor insulation

High energy bills, indoor temperatures that change from room to room, drafts, and stains on ceilings or walls are all signs that your insulation is no longer doing its job. On a recent attic project, we sealed every top plate and plumbing and electrical penetration with Dow spray foam, added adequate ventilation, then blew the attic to R-49 with cellulose — an eco-friendly, fire-retardant insulation made from recycled newspaper.

01.
Lower energy bills

Less heat escapes in winter and less heat gets in during summer.

02.
Year-round comfort

Fewer drafts and more even temperatures from room to room.

03.
A healthier home

Sealing and insulating limit moisture problems in attics and crawlspaces.

Frequently asked questions

It depends on the space. Blown-in cellulose works well in open attics, batts suit open walls and floors, and spray foam is ideal for sealing gaps and rim joists. We assess your home and recommend the right combination.

Yes. Insulation works best when air leaks are sealed first, so we seal top plates and plumbing and electrical penetrations before adding insulation.
